The M-800 WILL drirve a LS-x coil OR an IGN-IA coil.

This is possible if connected directly to the M-800's "TTL" output.

A CDI would "fry" either coil.

To clarify - NO.

The CDI 8 cannot be used with coils that have internal igniters, which LS1 coils do.
