Our ECUs with tach output have a 0-12 volt square wave. That's fine for most installs, particularly with aftermarket tachs, but not some OEM tachs that triggered off the coil negative terminal when those cars were converted to distributorless or CDI ignition.

We've just released our own high voltage tach adapter for installations where a 0-12 volt tach signal just doesn't work. This module is equipped with a Deutsch-compatible connector for easy installation.

Common OEM applications include:

- American muscle cars through the 1970s
- European cars through the 1970s
- Japanese cars through the 1980s – some Toyotas as late as the mid 1990s

This module is not intended for use with current triggered tachometers, which connect to the positive terminal of the coil.
