--Edited - steve from DD was on this right away! I do appreciate their response.

Basically, I've had a few DD units with some sort of ground-fault shocking issue and bad LCD screens in the last month. It looks like the new DD owners are pretty pro-active about addressing this stuff - I got an email in 3 hours! At least now I know who to send my customers to when they have issues.

The electric shock is usually caused by static electricity

I have had this happen to me twice,

the first occasion there was a wiring fault with the car - it had two batteries, removing the second one cured the problem

the second time there was an earthing issue on the power to the building

make sure the car/dyno is earthed correctly

if the car has a static issue you can't trace, run a jump lead from the car to the dyno

the lcd handcontroller you were using is obsolete - the replacement is a windows pda style with software (quite funky)

I'm bringing up this old thread to see if any of you with a DD machine have experienced what appears to be static electricity shock thru the controller.

Any info much appreciated.

Thanks,
Al
