Department: Research & Development

Reports to: Head of Engineering

Position Summary:

Work directly with ECU calibration tools, to develop and test engine and transmission calibrations. Measure results quantitatively using Dynamometer and actual acceleration results. Occasionally travel to sea level for testing or racing trips for product development and marketing.

Job Responsibilities:
Safely calibrate engines to create maximum horsepower
Calibrate engines to operate successfully in a variety of atmospheric conditions
Calibrate transmissions for better driveability and user experience
Work with transmissions to improve torque holding capabilities
Move existing calibrations to alternate versions of OE binaries using WinOLS or similar hex editing software
Troubleshoot and reverse engineer OEM calculations and routines which must be modified to eliminate trouble points
Read and comprehend complex technical documentation

Qualifications required:

Strong foundation in calibrating engines for power, including ignition timing, fueling, and camshaft timing.
3+ years of professional calibration experience.
Applicants must have a range of experience calibrating complex modern cars in all these aspects.
Experience calibrating engines to operate in a wide variety of conditions is preferred.
Drag racing experience is a must, calibrations generated must work on the street, the drag strip and the road race circuit.
WinOLS - Hex editing level calibration experience
A strong technical background is preferred so the candidate is ready to tackle complex issues

Physical Requirements
Able to assist on and around the dyno, including bolting cars onto the dyno
Should be able to perform basic physical activities like changing a tire
Able to lift 75 pounds

Compensation and Benefits

Salaried position. Determined by experience and skill set.
401k eligibility after 90 days
Paid Holidays
Standard 40 hour work week, with occasional travel and overtime as needed to bring projects home.
