I guess a better question might be, how are they to tune? I've heard some not-so-great stuff about Bosch's older motorsport ECUs in terms of easy of tuning, but nothing about their newer models. The only other ECU I've dealt with has been megasquirt and their software, which wasn't very impressive but usable.

Engineering style software. Not for everyone. Why might I ask are you considering this option vs other more consumer based options. Also, what engine is it for?

My primary reason is pretty horrible, but I simply want to replace the current Bosch fuel injection on the engine with another newer Bosch product.

The engine is from a grey market 1985 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 with a constantly troublesome and inefficient Bosch KE-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection system.

Could you elaborate a little on "Engineering style software" a little? I have yet to install Bosch's software due to operating system compatibility issues.

Their most affordable MS 3 Sport which is pretty well featured starts around 1760 euro or 2500 US according to their website, putting them in a relatively competitive price range.

Here are the prices Bosch lists: http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/content/language2/html/2953.htm

That'll be Alpha-N primary with pressure/maf compensations secondary.
