I have just finished getting two cars wired and running with the fast xfi systems and I have a couple of questions.
1. I have looked throught the software and do not see any decel fuel cut strategy. Is there one? and if not how do you guys tune for it?
2. I noticed there is some new software in the works. Will it be a free upgrade? When will it be available?
3. I have noticed it is very popular to run the O2 closed loop in all load ranges. Typically I have only used it under 100kpa and 3000 rpm on all other ecu's I have tuned. What is evey ones opinion on this ?
Cheers,

Bill,
I can help with #2 and #3 - I bet other will chime in with help of #1.
#2 Look at the Thread "Fast Update" in this forum. From what I understand the upgrade will be around $50.00 if don't need the "2.0" printed on your ECU box. There is also a PDF file on the FAST webpage with similar info. I have heard it will be after the first of the year when it will be available.
#3. I can run in closed loop right down to idle once the engine in warmed up. And several others do also. From what I've been told it is a matter of what does the engine like. Play around with the Closed Loop parameters and see what works for you and what you do with your car.

1. decel fuel cut is really done behind the scenes. If you actually tune the whole VE table you will have no problem tuning without it. There is a clip on accel enrichment.
2. New software, I would suspect will be out in Jan sometime, has a bunch of cool new stuff but mostly geared towards the power adder and boost control drag racing stuff. They are finishing some testing on a few of the features.
3. Really no down side to running closed loop through all RPM and load ranges, I do with my own car and have not had a good argument on why not too. New software will interupt the closed loop when on the two step RPM limiter and back on after launch. This is something that this ECU does a very good job at that some other ECUs do not. _________________ Brian Macy
