I am thinking of buying a new one. Seems really nice for the price. Exactly what I want for ten grand cheaper than the mustang that I was looking at. Eddy brake, twin 8.5 roller 1250 hp rating. Anyone had any experience with one?

Yeah but they are three times the money. How recent were those complaints? I have heard bad things about mustangs and dd as well. I don't have the budget for a 60k dyno this year and I don't want to save up another year or two and loose the market. What do you recommend for a 2wd eddy brake dyno?

Before you buy one. Ensure that it meets your requirements and try it out.
Put a car on one with your tuning gear and ensure that the tool (dyno) allows you to tune. If the tool doesn't allow you to tune "properly" then it really doesn't matter if it is cheaper. Even if you have to spend a little dough to go where a dyno is it is still worth it. If the manufacturer trusts in their tool to do the job they will make one available with a car.

"yeah but they are three times the money"

Think you may have answered your Own question there. My 2wd DD ran faultlessly for almost 5 years, did have a few slight issues but nothing that meant the Dyno was out of use for more than 1/2 a day. Have recently upgraded to a 4wd DD.

Won't name any names but recently a tuner in the Uk removed a 4wd DD and fitted a 4wd Dynocom, which has now been removed due to problems and replaced with another 4wd DD.

I've had this model for 1.5 years now. Does a good job. no problems. Steady state, ramp, inertia, etc....all works as designed.

Well I am going to get one and post the results. I talked to a bunch of shops today that have one and I got honest real answers. It is the right price, right specs and right timing for me. I can't wait another six months to get into the market here. I will let you know.

Well, it showed up today and looks to have arrived in working order.

Hope to have it running in the next couple of days.

Dyno looks nice!

My mustang dyno was pretty cost effective brand new. Looks almost identical to yours only with a center axle tie down. Owned it for about a year and its been very good to me. Its hard to imagine this one is 10k cheaper. How much was the dyno com?

What diameter are the rollers? I think youl be real happy with the dual/quad roller setup vs a big single.

Good luck, def keep us posted on the install!

It was 27.5k with shipping and everything but the christmas tree. Still trying to get my buddy to wire the 220. Dam hot weather slowing my progress.

Where did your post go?
Getting hushed about checking references on Dynocom?
It's only libelous if it isn't true.

That's not a bad price, you should consider fabbing up a center axle tie down. Does wonders for traction and you eliminate the need for in ground strapping pods. On my mustang its a pretty simple but solid design. On dyno dynamics dynos, their concept is similar but design isn't as solid to me. Both designs seem to work great however.

I wouldn't wait on your buddy for the 220, its simple and takes just a few minutes to hook up.

The dyno and my z are all ready to go. Everything is wired and checks out
Good so far. Going to do the first run tommorow and the dynocom tech is coming out next sunday to train and make sure that everything is working like clockwork. Here is a pick. Putting the ground hooks in tomorrow. We are repainting the walls and ballbearing cleaning the floor in the next two weeks in case anyone was wondering. Used to be a tranny shop.

The dynocom tech came out yesterday and checked everything out. The dyno was spot on and very accurate. He showed me a bunch of features that i hadn't noticed. Checked every sensor over and made sure that everything was in order. He even went out of his way to give tips on how expedite tuning on the dyno. I didnt know that their speed sensor was digital and not analog. The snapshot option was really neat for the rpm signal too. Basically you set a target rpm for your pull, once you reach the target rpm you press the go button, after a second pause you floor it and do the pull. It calculates the engine rpm without hooking anything up to the engine. Should make dyno days easy. I am very happy with the dyno so far. The z made 317 whp, 348 ft/lbs torque at 15psi for a baseline run. Going to fine tune her tommorow.

Let us know how you get on. They do look to have great features to be honest. Dyno's IMO are overpriced for what they are for a number of reasons. Looking at the breakdown of parts, these are about "the right money".

How was traction? Are the rollers knurled? They look smooth on the pictures.

The rollers with the eddy brake and speed sensor are knurled. Traction seems to be fine so far but i have only had a 600 hp on there so far.
