Honda Engine Building/Tuning class

STOP!

Don?t build another engine until you attend this course!

When EFI University began in 2003, it was designed to address a need in the market place: at that time there were literally thousands of ?engine builders? who didn?t know much about the installation, configuration, and calibration of engines using electronic fuel injection.

To meet that need we developed a series of courses aimed at both amateur and professional level engine tuners.

Now we have realized the need for a hands-on, professional level engine course, and the logical choice for the initial training and curriculum development was to get our founder, Ben Strader, who was a professional racing engine builder before starting EFI University, to team up with our mid-west instructor Sean Powers.

Sean spent 12+ years at Honda R&D Americas Inc (HRA), 10yrs. of which were in the engine shop assembling thousands of test engines before transitioning to engine performance group for 2 years, where he performed duties such as test setup, engine/dyno instrumentation, ECU data settings/engine calibration, and reporting.

Considered by most at HRA to be the one of the most well rounded Honda engine experts in the country, his work is directly responsible for multiple wins as a member of the THR race team at Thunderhill with the Civic Si, and Acura TL, as well as other NASA/SCCA events.

Sean has thousands of hours dyno testing Honda engines on the state of the art AVL A/C motoring dynos and over the years has gained knowledge essentially unobtainable by any other means than working for an OEM.

Having trained at Honda R&D in Tochigi Japan, his experience is second to none with the K and J series engines!

Sean left Honda in Aug. of 2012 to pursue additional education and other opportunities such as course development with EFI U!

Imagine being able to come to a dedicated training facility and get access to the best equipment, the most knowledgeable instructors and information not available anywhere else, and on top of that you get to do it yourself!

This course will be a hands-on, instructor-led journey through the maze of items to be checked, measured and inspected during the assembly process and will include learning what to measure, where to measure it, and what tools are needed to get the job done correctly the first time!

Special emphasis will be placed on finding and understanding problem areas and how to identify failures after the fact. We will also cover engine theory, component identification and assembly do?s and dont?s, as well as special techniques for N/A versus Forced Induction applications.

Students will inspect, measure and assemble a Honda K24 engine from scratch and then install the engine on EFI University?s new Mainline-Dynolog Engine Dyno and go through the engine break-in and tuning process using the same techniques employed by the R&D team at Honda USA!

Classes at our state of the art training facility in Lake Havasu City, Arizona will last for three days.
There will be six available seats in each class and initial class schedules will begin in September of 2013.

Tuition for the class is $2995 and covers all materials, supplies and tools needed.

Consider the peace of mind you can get from your engine projects for less than the cost of a single rebuild.
