|
|
Been looking at the AEM software and ECU's. Anyone have an opinion on these controllers from a reliabilty and tuneability point of view. They seem to have a lot of adjustability but that doesn't mean that they can produce good results.
Any comparative info would be useful |

| AEM series 2 is pretty good. For general use model 30-6050 is correct. |

| How about the EMS-4 Universal ? It uses the AEMtuner software and seems comprehensive for a 4 cyl motor |

I'm currently in the middle of setting up an Ems-4 for an early Mitsubishi 4g63.
The software is nice, but there are some issues.
The first issue is that the ecu will not connect to the pc on a consistent basis unless you enter a password. With no password you may connect 1/20 attempts.
the second issue, more of an annoyance really is that to enable the ecu logging, loading a map from file or setting/removing passwords you must cycle power to the ecu.
Hopefully i can get it up and running over the the weekend and share more of my findings _________________ The Perfect "Tune" |

I believe the EMS-4 is a variant on the Series 2 that has been made into a universal 4 cylinder system instead of being plug and play, but appears to use the same firmware and basic architecture. _________________ Matt at DIY Autotune |
