Tuners,

what laptop screen resolution do you find to be a good balance between work efficiency and portability? Have any of you also tried 1366 x 768 resolution? If so, how did like/dislike 1366x768 res?

This is what i have and it works perfect ! Wink

When working on engine dyno / analysing log on the desk i'm using an external monitor with wider screen ( 1920 * 1080 ) because it's easier and more comfortable.

1920X1080.. The format is called FHD, and you can get it on a 15in screen on most workstation class or business class laptops. It makes life a lot easier when you tune full time, to not have to scroll around all day. Wink

FHD,

wow, thats some high resolution laptops. Most I saw with those resolutions were quite heavy. What kinda weight do your machines weigh?

I use oldish Thinkpad T42 that I have customized to give great battery life: R51 system board with integrated video (original had Ati discrete), no optical drive, low voltage Dothan CPU that is undervolted, SSD disk and 9cell battery. It gives me 9+ hours of battery life with wireless and around 10.5 hours with wireless turned off.

Resolution is standard XGA (1024x768) but I have never felt that I need more resolution.
