Does anyone know of equipment or handheld programmer to adjust fuel and ignition on a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Dodge 360 V8 engine? Can only find JET modules and similar but we are stroking the engine to 410 and som other modifications so should do a custom remap on it. Standalone ECU is not on the budget for this one... _________________ My headstuds need more torque than your vtec engine can produce. |

Given the age, It will most likely be a case of desoldering the EPROM and reading/writing with a bench programmer.
Can you open the ecu and post a couple of pics of the ecu board? |

I don't think anything is available for those other than the jet chips. I have been building a harness for those years/models of Dodge to put a stand alone in the car and keep the factory stuff working, it is one of our most popular products. I know it's not in the budget but I think it's your only option. _________________ Brian Macy

What make is the ecu?
So long as you can obtain the calibration data from whatever memory it has, then it's tuneable. For that age I would expect it to be DIP or maybe a pair of PLCC chips. |

You might want to contact Superchips:

They've got a tuner for the Dakota and Ram versions of this motor; it wouldn't hurt to ask if there's anything different on the Jeep. _________________ Matt at DIY Autotune |

What ECU do you use with it? _________________ My headstuds need more torque than your vtec engine can produce. |
