| Anyone have one of there dyno's or have used one? Looking for people's review of the dyno and software. Looking at one of the 2wd chassis dyno's with eddy current brake. |

Learn to search. There's a post about them on the first page about 1/3 of the way down. _________________ I am a Mechanical Engineer. |

There's a pretty detailed thread on the four wheel drive model which should be close enough for what you're asking. _________________ I am a Mechanical Engineer. |

I think he's referring to that hub-dyno thread.
As for hardware I can only comment on the eddy brakes as I own one of those hub-axle dyno's and they perform good. The rest of the hardware is also pretty well build. L&S have been in this business for over 30 years and they know how to build a dyno.
The software is awesome, you can do anything with it you can think of and configure it however you want. Also the lay-out of the screen is fully configurable. I'm talking about the Pro-version, don't know the limitations of the lighter versions, but they have a nice table on their website where you can compare them.
Some say they are a bit overwhelmed by all it can do, I was a bit like that in the beginning, but once you get a hang of the software you wouldn't want anything else.
(off topic; how the hell did you manage to get almost 17 million posts?? Did you do a hack or something? lol!) _________________ www.ludwigperformance.nl

Thanks for reply Richard. I'm used to operating a DD and after looking through softwares for the other manufacturers they don't seem as well laid out/simplistic but I guess it's just a matter of getting to grips with it!
Lol, I have no idea about the post count just logged in one day and had this massive post count even though I really only have 100-200 posts. |

LAnd and Sea's software is leagues ahead than others.
Its an engineers based software, with many data entry points, allowing to ultimately set up and fine tune the dyno and associated data-logging.
Others dont allow this hands on approach, and so appear simple to use. |

Good to know but is it the kind of software you'll take forever to get to grips with? |

No it's very logically laid out and intuitive to use.
It's like any software when you use for the first time - always seems awkward at first, but give it a few hours messing about, and your fine! |

I used one of their dynos for a couple of years and the software was very nice and very configurable. I could see the configurability being a problem for some though as it would be easy to screw up the settings if you do not know what you are doing.
One issue I did have though that was never worked out is the end of the pulls always had the last few hundred rpm cut off. You would see it go to the correct rpm while performing the pull (and would always read correct during steady state), but on the graph it looked like you ended at a much lower engine speed than you actually did (torque dropped off earlier than it actually was). I believe it had to do with how the data points were being averaged by the software. I spoke a number of times with their tech support about it and all they could ever tell me was that my datalogger was wrong...i knew this was not the case. I even sent them run files to analyze. Sometimes cars were off by as much as 1000 rpm!
I have seen other people online with similar problems. It is a shame they could never help me with this beacuse their software was a very powerful tool. _________________ www.shuetuning.net

Hmm, strange, I don't have this problem. Maybe something in the configuration set-up that was missed? _________________ www.ludwigperformance.nl
