how often do yall actually use your dyno.

i have been wanting to get one for the longest time. i just landed this new job as fleet manager with the city. its 50k a year, m-f 8-5. i cant see myself giving it up.

if i do end up buying a used dyno, something single wheels, used, maybe around 15-20k. does it seem profitable the only be able to use it friday, sat and sunday?

i dunno, just trying to still consider the idea

Most of the dyno customers have a M-F 9-5 job anyway to afford the hotrod. So then you will have the nights and weekends to work second job.. As long as no noise issues at the location.

Depends how you look at the dyno. As a toy, or a tool ?

Would you hesitate in spending 15-20k into your car and only use it a few days a week ?
I know it isnt the same thing as there are other costs involved. But if you have the room and dont need to operate commercially. Then just see it as a toy for yourself to use which may also be able to generate some income.

I use mine every day. Best investment I have ever made.

I know if I only used my dyno during the weekend, it would still be worth it. My weekends are my busiest times. I could easily make 50k a year just tuning cars during the weekend only. Mine makes $1-2k a weekend.

I payed cash for mine brand new using my street tuning money. I doubled my dyno investment in less than 6 months.

Id laugh at someone wanting to give me 50k a year for 40hrs of my life a week. Wink

Now if your one of those [doubt you are] who thinks they are going to make a killing selling 3 pulls at a time, you'l lose your ass off on it, just like most of the dyno owners around me. As you probably know, dynos are for tuning, not numbers.
