I bet the rear straps snapped due to either being old or touching a exhaust component and not being shielded from the heat.
I had a time when a Lexus IS300 did this to me. The rear LCA from many runs ate into the strap and made them weak enough for when a run was made it snapped one.
Cut a piece of coupler in half and placed it over the LCA and problem solved. _________________ Alberto I Correa, Jr.

The one with the yellow Silvia, anyone notice how the car pulled the dyno bed off the ground? I don't think that was caused by a broken strap!
the car drove off the rollers and tried to go for a drive ! the other straps holding the car caused it to tip
all he had to do was hold it back steady state in first gear at full throttle and check to see if the straps were ok - its best to find out there is a problem at 10 mph rather than 100 mph ! _________________ Dyno Developments
