I am tuning a car running an older F.A.S.T. engine control unit with their CComWP software. I asked one of their reps if they had any type of boost control setup that would be compatible and he told me he suggested I read through the help files because the unit had onboard boost control.

Am I missing something here? Or was he mistaken in that CComWP does not have a boost control feature?

Anyone have any suggestions for running boost with this system? Preferably based on gear or speed.

The "Classic" grey F.A.S.T box did not have any type of boost controller.

The newer XFI system does

OK, thanks for the info. Any recommendations for a good boost controller that can do boost by gear or speed?

With the classic Fast ecus most people used the Nitrous control feature to do staged boost with relays and twist knobs.

Drag racing or street use?

Thats if you classic box is configured with nitrous controls.
Most are not,if you have idle control you dont have nitrous ouputs

I pretty much only use the AMS 1000 from NLR controls for boost control

Thanks for the idea TurboNova, Ill have to bring that one up. Its a Drag only Acura Integra down in Costa Rica.
Otto, Ill have to double check, but Im pretty sure it has both Nitrous and Idle controls. I could have seen wrong. I did bring up the AMS-1000 but he wasn't so happy with the price tag.

Thanks for the help

It will be the best money he spends going to an AMS 1000.
I use these exclusively and they are dead on acccurate.
If you have tracks that can be marginal at times this will get you down!

Buy one with a plane ticket and I help ya set it up Wink
