I recently took the EFI Live class and while I learned a great deal from it, I feel that there is much more that can be learned. I don't feel that Justin did
anything wrong it's simply that there is only so much that can be learned from a classroom only environment. It's partly my fault, when we were asked
if we had any questions I drew a blank. There are some things that could be covered that I don't think are covered in any other classes.
GM has a few proprietary systems and therefore EFI LIVE has one of a kind features. I would be willing to pay 500 per day for a 2-3 day EFI Live class.
If there was a 3 day class 1 could be classroom 2 could be dyno-tuning Corvette, Camaro, GTO, Trucks. That way Ben's Duramax-EFILive class
would cover the rest.
Thank you
-Justin
P.S. Please e-mail me if a Diesel class pops up Justin@EFIMuscle.com |

Well a response would be cool, regarding the possibility of creating a class

I'd imagine a market for such a class would be incredibly small.
Best option would be to find a local tuner who is fully conversant with the software, and pay them for tuition _________________ LS1, V7 YSi

L31 Sleeper,
StevieTurbo is right. There isn't much demand for a class that is that expensive and takes up multiple days. As it is, we have a hard time filling the existing class at $350 dollars considering how inexpensively a person can buy the software and "learn" on their own.
As always, we are interested in hearing about new ideas and ways to make the company's products better, and perhaps your idea could be molded into a "privately available" class that could be delivered on a one on one basis or for small private groups, but for now a public class as you describe just doesn't seem practical for our business model.
Thanks so much for taking our classes so far and we hope to see you again at another one!

The thing is I really don't have any problem paying the Strader fee.
1K per day or so. It just seems like a waste when other people could
be learning also. The main thing is that I don't have the equipment,
cars with mods and or trucks, dynos, and such.
Thanx
-Justin
P.S. As far as anyone buying the software and learning it them selves
that just opens the door for poor tunes. Justin started Black Bear
because of a bad tune. |

Poor tunes are down to the individual.
Ive seen plenty of poor tunes from "professional" shops, as well as DIY sources.
And also Ive seen very good ones from DIY, and professional.
TBH, training has sweet fa to do with it. If the user knows what an engine requires to perform, and has an ability to use the software in hand to make it happen. Thats all that is required.
Just because someone has undertaken a certain training course, doesnt mean they have any ability whatsoever to be anywhere near a car, let alone tune one.
I worked as an electrician for around 15 years, and encountered many others who had passed all their exams, and been working for many years, fully qualified in their trade..
Holy good fuck, words cant describe how dumb and incapable some of those people were. If I had had the power, they'd have been sacked on the spot for their inabilites. _________________ LS1, V7 YSi

Hey I would love to be a MoTec, Halltec, AEM, FAST only guy.
I just don't see that making me a hole lot of money in my current
location. However there is more than enough room for tuning
factory GM stuff, there are so many weekend-driven corvettes up here,
the new camaros are selling pretty good, loads of gas and duramax trucks.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't know of ANY other PCM that has
VE Coefficients ??
Edit: The 101 and EFI Live certainly have me on the right track. Thanx |

The more you use it, the more experience you will get.
The more problems you encounter while using it, the more you will really learn about how it works.
So the best thing you can do, is play with it as much as possible. _________________ LS1, V7 YSi
