Hey guys!

I have been looking over the fourm for over a year now and I finally decided it's time to take the plunge and just take the class! I dont know how many of my friends have come to me and said the guy that tuned my car knew nothing or my car doesnt run right like it did in in the summer. I want to be able to help my freinds and myself! I have one question though I am taking the course at EFI logics in Bethel, CT and they are also offering the EFI Advanced class is the extra 1 day class worth the 1,000? I am strapped for cash with school loans as it is and my family is willing to give the cash for the class I just want to make sure the class is worth the money.

Thanks,
Ryan scott

Most guys can retain about 10% of any information that they read or hear.

Hands on information retention is much greater in most cases.

If you are strapped for cash and only doing this as a hobby, then you should save the money up and take the class when you can afford it. If you are doing this as a career, chalk the cost up to continuing education and get the hands on training.

Hey,
I appreciate your honest answer glad people at EFI don’t just try and sell you something if they don’t believe it is necessary at the time shows true character in the people that work there! I am working a full time job as a nuclear engineer but cars are my passion and I would love the extra cash after work and on the weekends to maybe one day open my own shop. From what you have said I am starting to feel maybe this class is a great idea for me to take it. I saw a list for what we will go over in EFI 101 is there list that goes over in detail what the EFI Advanced class will go over? I am sorry for all the questions but being an engineer has made me very thorough and just makes me double check to make sure things are a good idea. I appreciate your time in answering my questions. Oh and one last thing what will I need to bring to the EFI 101 class and maybe the Advanced class?

Thanks,
Ryan

Heres the details of the Advanced class
http://www.efi101.com/efiadvanced.html

Trying to speak unbiasedly, when I originally took the classes myself years ago I thought the Advanced class was worth it, and was glad I did it. Like Seth said, the Advanced class really helps by letting you apply the knowledge you learned in the 101. Being on the dyno and tuning for the first time can be intimidating and overwhelming for a lot of people, and it really helps and saves time to have someone show you the proper methods and go step by step.

Just an open mind, and a willingness to learn (and maybe some snacks if you get hungry a lot) Laughing

Also heres an old thread from a few years back where someone asked a similar question that might help you out too
